Join India’s Global Gaming Revolution: Explore the Bharat Tech Triumph Program Season 3 at GDC, San Francisco, WAVES, and Start-Up Mahakumbh – Empowering Indian Game Developers for Worldwide Success!

Mumbai, 27 February 2025: The Bharat Tech Triumph Program (BTTP) has announced its 20 winning game developers at an exciting Grand Finale held on February 26, 2025. This initiative, led by WinZO Games and the Interactive Entertainment and Innovation Council (IEIC), supports India’s top game development talent.

This year’s BTTP, the largest edition yet, partnered with DPIIT and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. In total, over 1,500 game developers and students have participated in all three editions, making it a premier platform for innovation and entrepreneurship in gaming. A panel of esteemed judges from India’s investment and business scene selected the winning games, including notable figures like Dr. Mukesh Aghi of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum and Padma Shri Prashanth Prakash of Accel Partners.

The winners will represent India at significant events: GDC 2025 (March 17-21, San Francisco), Start-Up Mahakumbh (April 3-5, India), and WAVES (May 1-4, India). This exposure allows them to showcase their innovative games to global investors and industry experts.

India’s gaming sector is at a pivotal moment. According to a report by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, the gaming market is currently valued at approximately USD 4 billion and is projected to grow to USD 60 billion by 2034. The BTTP aims to position India as a global leader in gaming technology and intellectual property, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Create in India for the World.” This initiative empowers Indian creators in gaming, animation, and digital storytelling, harnessing their potential to shape a promising future for gaming in India.

Edition 3 of the BTTP attracted over 1,000 participants from diverse backgrounds, including gaming studios, indie developers, students from prestigious IITs and IIMs, and tech startups across multiple platforms. The winners will have the unique chance to present their innovations at GDC 2025, WAVES, and Start-Up Mahakumbh—all through this single competition.

Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, highlighted the program’s importance: “Watching BTTP unfold reminds me of the Prime Minister’s call for India to lead in game development. This program nurtures game developers while promoting our top gaming content.” Padma Shri Prashanth Prakash emphasized how initiatives like BTTP are essential in transforming the gaming ecosystem in India and beyond.

Paavan Nanda, Co-Founder of WinZO Games, reflected on BTTP’s impact: “This program has become a vital platform for unlocking India’s game developer talent. We designed BTTP to support developers through ecosystem connections, global exposure, and mentorship. The continued success of this program shows we’ve achieved our goals.”
