Arm In Arm is bringing its mobile food pantry to the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System on three Mondays this January. This initiative aims to support local residents in need by providing nutritious food. The dates to remember are January 5, 12, and 26, with pantry hours from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There’s no need to register beforehand; staff will help you on arrival.
The pantry will offer a variety of healthy items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, milk, frozen proteins, quality baked goods, and non-perishable food. Personal care items like shampoo, soap, and diapers will also be available.
On the same days, various social service agencies will join Arm In Arm to provide additional support:
- January 5: Mercer County Board of Social Services will have an information table.
- January 12: Lawrence Township Health Department will be present.
- January 26: Both the Mercer County Board of Social Services and Mercer County Health will offer information. Additionally, flu and COVID vaccinations will be available from Mercer County Health.
These services aim to create a supportive community network, addressing both food insecurity and health needs. Recent statistics highlight that food insecurity affects over 10% of households in the U.S., showing a growing need for initiatives like this. Experts suggest that local efforts to combat food insecurity can significantly improve community health and well-being.
Getting involved is easy! Arm In Arm welcomes volunteers to assist with their operations. If you’re interested, reach out to Shariq Marshall at 609-508-7851 or via email at shariqm@arminarm.org.
The Lawrence Headquarters Branch is located at 2751 Brunswick Pike in Lawrenceville. This partnership reflects a significant step in addressing local challenges while fostering community unity.
