Baby Bookworms
The Arcata Library hosts “Baby Bookworms” every Wednesday and Saturday from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. This fun time for infants and pre-walkers is filled with songs, rhymes, and playful moments under a parachute. Art Talk
Leslie Kenneth Price will share insights into his work during “Art Talk” on April 5 at 2 p.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. His exhibition, “Embracing the Quiet,” blends inspiration from Buddhism and nature. Price uses layers of acrylic to create depth and luminosity in his abstract paintings. This monthly event connects artists and art lovers, inviting discussions on creative processes. Admission ranges from $2 to $5, and it’s free for kids and families with EBT cards on the first Saturday of each month.
Genealogy Luncheon
The Redwood Genealogical Society will host a “Speaker Luncheon” on April 8 at Locha’s Restaurant in Fortuna, starting at 11:30 a.m. At noon, Rowetta Stapp Miller will speak about the Stapp family’s journeys to Humboldt County. Attendance is free, and a lunch option is available for $15.
Public Hearing
The Area 1 Agency on Aging invites seniors and community members to a public hearing on April 9 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This event discusses the 2026-27 Area Plan funded by the Older Americans Act.
