University of Michigan Women’s Gymnastics Update
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan’s women’s gymnastics team, currently ranked No. 9 in the nation, is gearing up for a meet against No. 4 UCLA this Saturday at 4 p.m. PT in Pauley Pavilion. Fans can catch the action live on B1G+.
Season Highlights
The Wolverines have made a strong impression this season. They are now the No. 3 team on balance beam, climbing the ranks after achieving the third-highest beam score in their history. Overall, they’re in the top 15 for all events: No. 3 on beam, No. 11 on both uneven bars and floor exercise, and No. 14 on vault.
Standout Performers
Individually, Kayli Boozer is making waves, ranking No. 6 on the beam. She recently captured her fifth consecutive beam title, scoring 9.950. Carly Bauman isn’t far behind; she ranks 15th on beam and 17th on floor, and was honored as Big Ten Specialist of the Week for the second time this season after winning both the beam and floor titles at Ohio State.
Boozer and Bauman achieved matching scores of 9.950 at Ohio State, contributing to the Wolverines’ impressive team score of 49.600. Freshman Quincy Walters also shone with a score of 9.925, while Ava Jordan scored 9.900.
Team Achievements
The Wolverines have had a remarkable season, recently recording their highest team score since 2023 with a 197.425 against Michigan State. The floor routine was particularly exhilarating, highlighted by Bauman’s career-best score of 9.975.
Earlier in the season, Michigan set a new program record on the beam with a score of 49.650 at the Sprouts Farmers Collegiate Quad. This surpassed the previous record from the 2023 season.
