Spring has arrived! April brings warmer days, blossoming flowers, and a joyful reminder of new beginnings. It’s a time to refresh our spirits, similar to celebrating a New Year. Two special events during this month are Easter and Earth Day, both symbolizing hope and renewal.

This month, let’s focus on taking care of our planet. To celebrate Earth Day, Greeley is hosting a free Earth Day Fair that everyone can enjoy. Swing by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley, located at 929 15th St., on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., come rain or shine. The fair is packed with fun activities for kids and adults alike.

You can expect hands-on experiences like making bird feeders, scavenger hunts, and painting canvas bags. There will be expert advice from master gardeners, recycling tips, and even a chance to test out electric bikes. Plus, Midnight Oil bookstore will be giving away free books!

Feeling hungry? Don’t miss the food truck, El Tacorriendo, which will be on-site serving delicious meals.

At 1:15 p.m., the documentary “2040” will be screened at the church. This film explores solutions for reversing climate change, inspiring viewers to think about a brighter future. It highlights the power of collective action in creating a better world for ourselves and generations to come.

The Earth Day Fair is organized by the Unitarian Universalist Church and the Greeley Chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL). This group is dedicated to promoting clean energy and advocating for a healthy environment. They work with lawmakers at all levels to support legislation that ensures a sustainable planet.
