Join Our Team: Seeking Passionate Continuing Education Instructors at Aim High Recreation Center!

GREAT FALLS — The Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic Center is on the hunt for instructors to teach classes on fun hobbies and skills.

Veronica Van Treek, who has been crocheting for more than 15 years, is excited to share her love for the craft. She said, “I wanted to teach a class here. They were very supportive, and I thought it would be a fun challenge.”

Now, she’s bringing her expertise to the Sheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic Center.

Jessica Compton, Deputy Director of Great Falls Park and Recreation, explained that they’re looking for people who can teach anything from gardening to jewelry making. “If you have a hobby or skill you love, we want to hear about it,” she said. “We want instructors who are passionate and eager to share their interests with the community.”

This initiative was part of their plan since the Aquatic Center opened last July. Compton added, “Many of our members asked for more ways to learn and connect. We thought, why not use the space we have for this?”

The center will handle class arrangements and promotion. Instructors will receive 70% of the class fees. Compton emphasized that they will support instructors throughout the process to ensure a successful experience.

The first class will start on March 1st with Veronica teaching crochet. Van Treek expressed her enthusiasm by saying, “I can’t really explain why I want to teach, but it’s amazing to share my knowledge with others.”
