On February 7, 2026, Allegany County will host the annual Souper Bowl Day of Caring. This special day focuses on gathering non-perishable food items for local food pantries. The event is organized by Ardent Solutions, and it’s a chance for the community to come together to help those in need.
Throughout the day, one of the county’s public transit buses will be stationed outside Tops Friendly Markets in Wellsville, inviting residents to drop off their food donations. It’s a simple way to give back and make a difference.
In addition to the bus, donation boxes will be available across the county at various locations, including schools, banks, and community centers. Here are some of the spots where you can contribute:
- Andover Central School
- Wellsville High School and Middle School
- Genesee Valley Central School
- Ardent Solutions Family Resource Center
- Runnings (Wellsville)
- Community Bank (Wellsville)
- First Citizens Bank (Wellsville)
- Allegany County Office for the Aging (Belmont)
- The Arena (Wellsville)
- The Shop on Main
- Save-A-Lot
- Allegany County Courthouse
Every item collected directly supports families and individuals facing food insecurity in the area. The need remains high, and community support is vital. A local report from the Food Bank of New York revealed that food insecurity affects 1 in 8 residents in Allegany County. This event highlights the importance of local efforts to combat hunger.
Ardent Solutions thanks everyone involved—from the Allegany County Board of Legislators to local volunteers, including the Andover Central School basketball team, who help facilitate the collection. Their efforts ensure that the event runs smoothly.
This event is more than just a food drive; it’s a testament to the community spirit. Residents’ compassion and willingness to help each other shine through every year. As we gear up for 2026’s event, remember that your participation makes a real impact.
