Join the Aspen Racquet Club and DuraFlex for a Heartwarming Holiday Food Drive!

Aspen Racquet Club is hosting its annual food drive to support People to People Ministries, an organization committed to helping local families in need. This year, they’ve partnered with DuraFlex to broaden their efforts and invite the Wooster community to take part.

The food drive runs from October 15 to November 30. During this time, Aspen Racquet Club will match every can donated, effectively doubling the contributions and helping even more families during the holiday season.

Community members can drop off canned goods and nonperishable food items at either Aspen Racquet Club or DuraFlex. “This is a time for us to come together as neighbors,” says Heather Alexander, club manager. “We aim to inspire greater generosity and support for those who need it most.”

Food insecurity is a growing issue. According to a 2022 report by Feeding America, over 34 million people in the U.S. face hunger, including nearly 10 million children. Local initiatives like this drive are crucial in addressing these challenges head-on.

As more organizations collaborate to tackle food insecurity, we are reminded of the power of community action. Involving local businesses not only amplifies the impact but also fosters a sense of unity. Communities working together can create lasting change, especially during the holidays when the need is particularly acute.
