Join the Battle Against Hunger: Food Fight Campaign Kicks Off This April!

From April 1 to April 30, Food Fight Restaurant Group will launch a special menu at its 15 locations in Madison and Middleton to support Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. This initiative has been running for about 15 years and combines good food with a heartfelt mission.

The special menu features an appetizer, entree, dessert, and drink. For every item purchased, $1 will be donated to Second Harvest. Guests can also add optional donations to their bills, whether they’re dining in or ordering takeout. Tito’s Handmade Vodka is joining the effort, contributing $5,000, while Delta Beer Lab has crafted a unique brew, the Hop It Forward Pale Ale, specifically for this campaign.

Kris Tazelaar from Second Harvest emphasizes the importance of community contributions. He noted that each $10 raised can provide $24 worth of groceries for families in need. The demand for assistance has increased, particularly since the pandemic, highlighting the growing need for support within the community.

Participating restaurants include Aldo’s Café, Bassett Street Brunch Club, Canteen, and more in Madison, along with Craftsman Table & Tap and Hubbard Avenue Diner in Middleton. Chef Tynan McCaffrey highlights how this initiative unites local restaurants for a common cause: ensuring everyone has enough to eat.

Food insecurity remains a pressing issue, with recent statistics showing that over 10% of households in Wisconsin struggle to access nutritious meals. Programs like this not only provide help but also raise awareness about food challenges in the area.

The initiative is about more than just dining; it’s a gathering of the community, encouraging everyone to play a part in fighting hunger. Explore the menus and learn more about this impactful campaign at SecondHarvestSW.org/FoodFight.
