Join the Celebration: CUKashmir’s Science Campus Honors National Science Day with Inspiring Events!

The Departments of Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Chemistry, and Animal Sciences at the Science Campus teamed up with the Directorate of Students Welfare to celebrate National Science Day. The event took place last Friday and focused on the theme, “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”

During the event, Prof. Abid Hamid Dar, the Director of the Campus and Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, spoke passionately about the need to foster a scientific mindset among students. He highlighted that achieving the vision of a developed India requires teamwork and shared efforts from everyone. Prof. Dar also discussed the significance of Nobel Prize winners in science, noting their contributions to healthcare. Their groundbreaking discoveries have led to better treatment and diagnosis for many diseases around the globe. He expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath and other leaders for their support.

Prof. M. Yousuf, Dean of Physical and Chemical Sciences, encouraged students to adopt innovative thinking. He pointed out that creativity is vital for propelling India’s growth in science and technology.

Dr. Dharmendra, from the Biotechnology Department, spoke about the importance of partnerships between research and industry. He mentioned initiatives like Startups India and Digital India, which aim to tap into the potential of young minds in India.

Dr. Anil Chandra, also from Biotechnology, expressed the need for young people to be motivated to contribute to the vision of a developed India. He celebrated the skills and talents of the youth while discussing how to cultivate their abilities as future innovators.

Dr. Rifat Akbar from the Chemistry Department focused on empowering youth as a pathway to global leadership. She shared insights into the initiatives taken by the Government of India to support young minds.

Dr. Shahnaz Perveen, from the Plant Sciences Department, welcomed everyone and emphasized the importance of blending science and technology to address societal challenges. Faculty members and students actively participated in the event, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the occasion.

To conclude, Dr. Shaiesta Shah from the Plant Sciences Department delivered a vote of thanks, appreciating the contributions of everyone involved.
