Hyderabad is set to host the Bharat Summit 2025 on April 25-26, a major event aimed at positioning Telangana as a leader in global discussions. The summit marks the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference, which helped shape the Non-Aligned Movement, and it emphasizes the theme of "Delivering Global Justice," aligned with the vision of justice advocated by Rahul Gandhi.

This gathering will bring together over 450 participants from more than 100 countries, including business leaders, politicians, academics, and representatives from global think tanks. Key figures attending include Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Priyanka Gandhi. The event aspires to create a platform for progressive ideas and policies.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka mentioned that the summit is a chance to unite various voices committed to democracy and equality. Minister for Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu highlighted the event’s importance, given the current geopolitical and economic challenges. He hopes it will mark the beginning of an annual tradition that promotes investment and growth in the region.

Salman Khurshid, former Corporate Affairs Minister, remarked on the historical significance of gathering so many progressive parties, comparing it to past summits. He pointed out that India has always played a crucial role on the global stage and aims to continue this legacy through the Bharat Summit.

Sam Pitroda, Chairperson of the Indian Overseas Congress, expressed that the world stands divided, with rising inequalities and threats to democracy. He believes India can lead a new progressive movement that advocates for moral values and justice. Meenakshi Natarajan, former MP, added that the summit is a chance to reevaluate the role of the state in a rapidly changing global context, emphasizing citizen empowerment.

The summit’s discussions will explore various crucial themes like climate justice, economic fairness, and diversity. By doing so, it aims to create a space for meaningful conversations that push for social good.
