Join the Earthlings Youth Group: Unite for Change at the Earth Day Climate March!

Community Comes Together for Earth Day

In Terre Haute, Indiana, the Earthlings Youth Group celebrated Earth Day with a lively event called the “Show Your Mother Some Love” Climate March. The aim was simple: unite the community in honor of our planet.

Participants kicked off the event at the Vigo County Public Library. They marched down Poplar Street, wrapping up with speeches at the courthouse. Everyone was encouraged to wear green and carry signs that promote environmental awareness, creating a positive and festive atmosphere.

Leif Speer, a member of Earthlings, spoke about the importance of community action. “If you’re worried about the future and think climate change is too daunting, I urge you to join organizations that fight for change. Many find that this is a battle we can win,” he said.

The Earthlings Youth Group focuses on educating others and engaging the community in environmental stewardship. Youth-led initiatives like this one are crucial as they inspire fresh ideas for tackling climate issues. Indeed, research shows that involving young people in such causes can lead to lasting changes in attitudes and behaviors toward the environment.

Adding to the significance of Earth Day, a recent survey by the Pew Research Center revealed that about 71% of Americans view climate change as a major threat. This underlines a growing awareness and urgency around environmental issues.
