Join the Excitement: Indian Army Heads to France for Joint Military Exercise SHAKTI

The Indian Army has sent a contingent to join the 8th edition of the India-French Joint Military Exercise SHAKTI. This year, the exercises will take place in Camp Larzac, La Cavalerie, France, from June 18 to July 1.

Ninety soldiers from the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles will lead the Indian team, along with other personnel. The French side will also include 90 troops from the 13th Foreign Legion Half-Brigade.

Exercise SHAKTI focuses on improving teamwork between the two armies. This year’s training will emphasize joint operations in semi-urban areas. The aim is to enhance operational coordination under guidelines from the United Nations.

During the exercise, both armies will practice tactical drills, share knowledge about techniques, and train on modern military equipment. Beyond skills, this exercise helps build camaraderie and mutual respect among soldiers from both nations.

The growing defense partnership between India and France is evident in this exercise. It not only strengthens military ties but also reinforces strategic alliances between the two countries.

As global security challenges grow, such collaborations are becoming increasingly relevant. Experts believe that joint exercises like SHAKTI enhance not just operational readiness but also foster a deeper understanding of each nation’s military culture. In times of geopolitical tension, the ability to work together on the ground could prove vital.
