Join the Excitement: Interactive Events by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change at Qatar Sustainability Week!

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) is hosting exciting activities on Gewan Island for Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2025. It’s all about raising awareness and promoting eco-friendly practices.

Maryam Shaheen al-Kaabi from the MoECC emphasized how important this week is for engaging the community in environmental issues. With hands-on workshops and interactive displays, they aim to teach people about climate change, recycling, and conserving our natural resources.

The festivities run daily from 3:30 PM to 10 PM, except on Mondays when they start earlier at 9 AM. Four main zones will engage visitors:

  1. Workshop Pavilion: Here, attendees can take part in practical recycling workshops led by ministry experts and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Ambassadors.

  2. Project Showcase Pavilion: This area highlights successful local projects focused on sustainability, showcasing innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

  3. Environmental Games Zone: Designed especially for children, this zone features five interactive games that teach them about sustainability in a fun way.

  4. Art Pavilion: This section displays beautiful artworks made from recycled materials, blending creativity with environmental awareness.

On the main stage, there will be daily events combining fun and education. Activities include competitions like “Participate and Win,” school student presentations, and workshops on sustainable living practices.

Did you know? A recent study from the World Bank shows that community engagement significantly boosts environmental sustainability efforts. By participating in events like these, people are more likely to take action in their everyday lives.

With increasing global awareness about climate change, events like Qatar Sustainability Week are essential. They not only educate but also spark conversations. People online are sharing their experiences and tips on social media, making it a community-wide effort to protect our planet.
