Join the Excitement: Ocean City’s Environmental Family Fun Day is Back!

OCEAN CITY, NJ — If you’re looking for a fun and educational outing for the kids this President’s Day weekend, mark your calendars for the Sixth Annual Ocean City Nature & The Environment Family Fun Day on February 15.

This exciting event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Ocean City High School cafeteria. Last year, over 850 families joined in, making it a lively day filled with hands-on activities that everyone can enjoy.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Animal Encounters: Get up close with small zoo animals and learn about marine life.
  • Creative Crafts: Dive into recycling with fun arts and crafts projects.
  • Food Donation Drive: Help those in need by bringing canned goods or personal care items.

In addition to the activities, there will be demonstrations and exhibits for the whole family:

  • Learn about the role of pollinators and how to plant your own pollinator garden, with free seeds to take home.
  • Discover the history of the Original Jersey Tomato, complete with seed giveaways.
  • Watch demonstrations on environmentally friendly shellfish replenishing and cleaning up the bay.
  • Find out about composting, recycling, and managing waste effectively.
  • Explore native plants and gather information on electric vehicle charging locations.

This event is proudly sponsored by Ocean City’s Environmental Commission in collaboration with local organizations like the Cape May County Park Zoo and Rutgers University Agricultural Extension. It’s a perfect chance for families to learn more about nature and how to protect our environment while having a great time!
