The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change (MoEF & CC) in India is looking for two consultants to enhance their Statistics Division. These are temporary roles: Consultant (Statistical Analyst) and Consultant (Sustainable Development), each offered for one year, with the chance for extension based on performance.

Consultant (Statistical Analyst)

  • Salary: ₹80,000 per month
  • Eligibility: Open only to Indian citizens
  • Education: Master’s degree in one of these fields:
    • Statistics
    • Econometrics
    • Economics
    • Geo-Statistics
    • Data Science
    • Environmental Science
    • Other related fields
  • Experience: At least five years in:
    • Environmental statistics
    • Sustainability
    • Natural resource management
    • Government or NGO sectors in India
  • Preferred: Ph.D. holders in relevant fields
  • Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as of January 1, 2025

Key Responsibilities: Main tasks include data collection and analysis, working with national and international agencies, and assessing global sustainability metrics like the Environmental Performance Index.

Consultant (Sustainable Development)

  • Salary: ₹1,00,000 per month
  • Eligibility: Open only to Indian citizens
  • Education: Master’s or B.Tech degree in fields including:
    • Statistics
    • Econometrics
    • Economics
    • Environmental Science
    • Geo-Statistics
    • Computer Science
    • Information Technology
    • Environmental Engineering
  • Experience: A minimum of seven years in:
    • Sustainable development
    • Climate change policies
    • Natural resource management
    • Government, academic, or NGO sectors in India
  • Preferred: Ph.D. holders and candidates skilled in climate policy and data analytics
  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as of January 1, 2025

Key Responsibilities: The consultant’s role includes research on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), analyzing greenhouse gas emissions, policy planning, and international collaboration on data.

Selection Process: Candidates will be chosen based on interviews. Consultants can be engaged for a maximum of three years, with possible further extension after approval. These roles are crucial as India strives for climate action and sustainable development. The consultants will help strengthen environmental data and ensure compliance with international climate agreements.
