In response to the recent wildfires, professional sports teams in Los Angeles are stepping up to help those affected. They have set up three locations where fire victims can collect much-needed supplies.
This Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., individuals impacted by the fires can visit Dodger Stadium, SoFi Stadium, or BMO Stadium. They’ll find over $3 million worth of donated Fanatics merchandise ready for distribution.
Molly Higgins from the LA Rams shared that this initiative came together in just a few days. “We know that Los Angeles is hurting right now, and we wanted to support Angelenos in need. Our team worked tirelessly to make this happen,” she said.
Higgins expressed gratitude for the partnerships that made this possible, particularly with Fanatics, as well as PacSun and True Religion. She also highlighted the contributions from Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions, who provided $200,000 in grocery gift cards for families affected by the disaster.
The twelve major sports organizations based in Los Angeles, including the Lakers, Dodgers, and Chargers, collectively donated $8 million to assist victims and support firefighting efforts in Southern California.
“We have a lot of fans in the community, and we want them to know that we are fans of theirs as well,” Higgins added.
To receive merchandise, individuals will need to show proof of residency in the affected areas. Transportation will also be available for those living in evacuation shelters.
