Hundreds of food lovers gathered at the New York Hall of Science in Queens for the fourth annual International Food Expo on December 8. All proceeds from the sold-out event aimed at supporting two initiatives: “SNAP BACK” and “Adopt a Veteran.” The “Adopt a Veteran” program helps veterans recently discharged from hospitals by providing meals prepared by local chefs for a month. The aim is to ease their transition during recovery.

Michael Fuquay, owner of The Queensboro, received praise for his role in the relief efforts during the pandemic. He emphasized that such events showcase the community’s spirit and highlight underrated restaurants. “This gives people a chance to discover places they never knew existed,” he said.
Queens Borough President Donovan Richards commended the efforts of Queens Together, stating, “We are the most diverse county in the United States. We build bridges, not walls through food.” This sentiment resonated with attendees who appreciated the melting pot of cultures represented at the expo.
