WELLSBURG — Get ready for the 46th annual Wellsburg Applefest! From Friday to October 5, the downtown area will come alive with food, fun, and local vendors. This beloved festival has something for everyone.
Expect over 100 vendors along Charles Street, offering handmade crafts and delicious treats like apples, cider, butter, and scrumptious pies. It’s a perfect outing for families and friends.
On October 4, youngsters aged 15 and under can take the spotlight with their own booths from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Wellsburg Town Square. This initiative, run by Ernie Jack and Frank Johnson, aims to teach kids about running a business. Parents can help supervise, but the kids are in charge!
Exciting activities await, including bounce houses sponsored by the Wellsburg Applefest Committee and Weirton Rental Center. The Town Square will also feature a stage with a variety of local talent. Friday’s lineup includes the Wellsburg Primary School Kindergarten and country singer Roger Hoard. On October 4, enjoy performances from Donnie D., an Elvis tribute artist, and many others.
Have a competitive spirit? Join the hot dog eating contest on October 4 or show off your pumpkin carving skills at 2 p.m. with safety knives. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained!
