The Capital City Brewfest is back! This lively event takes place in downtown Carson City on Saturday, May 31. It’s a day filled with great food, drinks, and entertainment.
Organized by the Rotary Club of Carson City, this festival brings together more than 20 local brewers and vendors, along with four food trucks, all set around Curry Street and McFadden Plaza. “We aim to create a fun atmosphere for everyone,” says Peter Fishburn, president of the Rotary Club.
This annual celebration not only offers a good time but also supports the community. Proceeds go towards scholarships, youth programs, and other vital services. Mayor Lori Bagwell, a Rotary member, describes the Brewfest as a prime community event, right in the heart of downtown.
From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., attendees can enjoy a variety of beverages, from local beers to spirits, all while savoring delicious food truck offerings. There’ll be live music featuring popular hits and classic tunes, spinning from a DJ.
Guests can also capture memories at a photo booth or try their luck in a raffle for prizes like golf gear and drinks. One exciting feature this year is a cornhole competition. Everyone can join the free warm-up games, and for those looking for more of a challenge, there’s a chance to win a $500 prize with a $10 entry fee.
Tickets can be purchased early for $35 from Rotary members or $40 online at CapitalCityBrewfest.com. On the day of the event, tickets will be $45. Local Rotarians will be there to help out and ensure everyone has a fantastic time.
Events like the Brewfest not only bring the community together but also highlight local culture and support area businesses. With the rise of craft breweries, this celebration mirrors a national trend. According to recent statistics from the Brewers Association, the craft beer industry has seen a 15% growth over the last year, showing just how popular these local brews have become.
So come join the festivities, enjoy the local flavors, and connect with your community!
