Join the Fun at Harvestfest: Delicious Food, Great People, and Unforgettable Experiences!

REEDSVILLE — This year marks the 40th Annual Big Valley Harvestfest, a beloved event that draws crowds to Mifflin County Youth Park. Kicking off on Friday, October 3, at noon, attendees can expect over 50 vendors offering delicious food and unique crafts.

Vicki Hamilton, an organizer for over ten years, shared, “It’s always a really fun time for visitors. Everyone leaves with a smile.” The festival is not just about food; it includes activities like carriage rides from Dayze Gone Bye, available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $5 each.

This year’s schedule highlights live music from the band Make Mine Country on Friday evening, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. so don’t forget to bring your lawn chair!

Saturday promises even more fun with a kids’ area featuring a free mobile petting zoo, balloon treats, face painting, and games. A chicken barbecue will occur at noon, along with a quilt raffle to support the Central Pennsylvania Clinic in Belleville.

Visitors will also enjoy a display from the Mifflin County Historical Society, showcasing local history. Notably, admission and parking are free, making it accessible for everyone.

In recent years, local festivals like Harvestfest have seen a rise in attendance. According to a recent local survey, nearly 75% of respondents look forward to community events as a way to connect and enjoy good food. Such gatherings strengthen community ties, offering a space where locals can support small businesses and enjoy family-friendly activities.

Harvestfest takes place at the Mifflin County Youth Park, located at the intersection of Routes 322 and 655 in Reedsville. Just follow the signs and join in the fun!
