Join the Fun: Celebrate Shelton Launches Exciting Signature Food Truck Festival!

SHELTON — Exciting news for food lovers! Celebrate Shelton is back for its 13th year, featuring one of Connecticut’s largest food truck events: Food Trucks on the River.

This tasty festival takes place at Veterans Memorial Park in Shelton. Join the fun on Friday, May 29th, from 5 PM to 10 PM, and Saturday, May 30th, from 11 AM to 8 PM. If it rains, the event will continue on Sunday, May 31st.

“Each year we grow and connect more with our community,” say Celebrate Shelton founders Nicole Heriot-Mikula, Michael Skrtic, and Jimmy Tickey.

This free festival is perfect for families. It showcases over 30 food trucks daily, along with live music all weekend, a lively artisan market, and a pop-up bar serving craft beers, wines, and unique cocktails. Whether you want to dance on Friday night or enjoy family bingo on Saturday, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s a taste of the food truck lineup: Greek Style Grill, Texmex Fusion Food Truck, Betzys Food Truck, Crispy Melty, King Shawarma & Falafel, and many others. Each truck will serve options priced between $5 and $7, making it easy to try a bit of everything!

Live Music Lineup

Friday features Daze In from Southern Connecticut, followed by Hartford’s Roost, and headlining is Grammy-nominated artist Thomas (Teeba) Forbes. Saturday brings a cozy Listening Lounge with talented singer-songwriters all day long.

Additionally, Celebrate Shelton will host the annual LGBTQ Pride Flag Raising on Saturday at 3 PM, promoting inclusivity and celebration of diversity.

Families can enjoy an 18-hole mini-golf course along with trivia and bingo themed around family-friendly topics, including Disney. This year’s event also emphasizes local talent and artwork, creating a stronger sense of community.

Though the festival suggests a $5 donation per person to support future events, the main goal is to celebrate food, music, art, and community spirit.

Thanks to generous sponsors like Tuttle Insurance, Liberty Bank, and Cedar Village, this vibrant event continues to thrive. For more information, you can visit the official site: CelebrateShelton.com.

Events like Food Trucks on the River are crucial for local economies. According to a recent study by the National Food Truck Association, food trucks contribute approximately $1 billion annually to the U.S. economy. Such festivals not only provide entertainment but also support local businesses.

Get ready for a weekend filled with flavors, music, and community celebration!
