Join the Fun: Penn State Athletics and University Police Team Up for ‘Cram the Cruiser’ Toy Drive!

Penn State University is gearing up for its second annual “Cram the Cruiser” event on Saturday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This fun community initiative, organized by Penn State Police and Athletics, will collect toys for the Toys for Tots program, helping local families during the holidays.

People can donate new, unwrapped toys for kids of all ages at the Bryce Jordan Center, right in front of Gate B. Expect to see Penn State athletes and members of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity there, alongside police officers, all eager to greet attendees.

Chief Wesley Sheets of University Police emphasized, “Events like ‘Cram the Cruiser’ highlight our community spirit and involvement.” He believes that working together can truly make a difference for families in need.

If you can’t make it to the event, you can still drop off toys at several locations, including the University Support Building 1 and the Athletics Administration Building until December 5.

Meighan Julbert, an assistant athletics director, shared that this event is a perfect way for student-athletes to connect with the community while making a positive impact. She encourages everyone to come out and get involved.

Giving back is important, especially during the holidays. According to a 2022 survey by the Philanthropy Roundtable, about 73% of Americans donated to charities during this time, demonstrating a strong spirit of generosity. Local events like “Cram the Cruiser” are vital as they directly benefit those in our community.
