New Delhi, September 28, 2025: Today, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) launched the Viksit Bharat Run 2025, an event that spanned over 100 countries. This initiative aims to inspire people to take action for nation-building as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada, which runs from September 17 to October 2.

Under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation,” individuals participated in 3–5 km runs at popular spots worldwide. Cities such as Bangkok, Beijing, and Tokyo joined the movement, where locals and Indians abroad came together to support the goal of a developed India by 2047.

Participants expressed their commitment by taking part in the Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledges. They also engaged in an environmental initiative called “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” which promotes sustainability through tree planting.

This year, the run highlights a growing trend of community engagement globally. According to a recent survey from the Global Run Organization, participation in community sports events has risen by 30% in the last five years, reflecting a widespread shift toward collective action for social causes.

Many participants connected with the MY Bharat portal, which offers various volunteering and learning opportunities aimed at youth. This strengthened ties between the Indian diaspora, Persons of Indian Origin, and local communities, allowing them to engage through cultural programs and community initiatives.

Leaders and dignitaries attended the events, sharing the story of India’s rapid growth and its developmental achievements, showcasing the strong bonds that unite India with its global citizens.
