Join the Kaukauna Area School District’s Food Drive: Help Us Make a Difference in Our Community!

Kaukauna High School’s National Honor Society is kicking off its annual food drive from November 3 to 25, 2025. The goal is to help local families in need by collecting non-perishable food items. Everything collected will go to the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry.

The Kaukauna school district encourages everyone to participate. “Your generosity truly impacts lives in our community,” they shared in a post. Parents can drop off donations at their child’s school, making it easy for everyone to contribute.

This food drive comes at a critical time for many families. There has been some confusion around FoodShare benefits lately. Initially, the federal government announced that benefits would not be distributed in February due to a government shutdown. However, a recent court ruling changed that. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) now states that FoodShare members will receive a reduced amount of benefits in November.

As the situation evolves, DHS is working swiftly to update the QUEST card system so recipients can access their funds. For the latest updates, check the [Wisconsin FoodShare website](https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/foodshare/news.htm).

In the bigger picture, food insecurity affects many communities across the U.S. According to recent data from Feeding America, around 42 million Americans faced hunger in 2021. Local food drives play a crucial role in bridging this gap, especially during uncertain times.

Community involvement in food drives not only helps those in need but also strengthens social bonds. As families come together to donate, they often create conversations around the importance of supporting one another. This food drive is a perfect opportunity for Kaukauna residents to show their caring spirit.
