World Hormone Day is coming back on April 24, 2026. This event is organized by the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) to spread awareness about the crucial role hormones play in our health.
The goal of World Hormone Day 2026 is to help everyone understand what hormones are and how to take care of hormone health. After a successful campaign in 2025 that reached over 136 million people in 40 countries, the ESE is eager to build on that momentum. The theme for this year is #BecauseHormonesMatter, encouraging everyone from individuals to healthcare providers to join in and raise awareness.
Professor Wiebke Arlt, the ESE President, emphasizes the importance of this day. She points out that most people only think about hormones when there’s a problem. Hormones affect many functions in our bodies, but public knowledge about them is still lacking. World Hormone Day is a chance to change that and share tips for better hormone health.
In preparation for the event, the ESE will offer a range of resources for communities. This includes social media graphics, posters, and videos that people can use to promote hormone health. These materials will be available for everyone to download starting in January 2026.
A recent survey by Healthline found that nearly 62% of people are unaware of the basic functions of hormones. This gap in knowledge highlights the importance of initiatives like World Hormone Day, aiming to educate and engage the public. Understanding hormones can lead to healthier lifestyles and better overall well-being.
