Join the Movement: Flathead Food Bank Launches Exciting Fundraising Campaign for Expansion

Flathead Food Bank is launching a new campaign to expand its services and fight food insecurity in Flathead Valley.

The kick-off is set for March 11 at Stockman Bank, where the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking event at 5 p.m. The address is 1825 U.S. 93 S, Suite F, in Kalispell.

Currently, the food bank distributes over 1.8 million pounds of food each year. Its headquarters are located in the Gateway Community Center, which dates back to 1973.

With the new campaign, the food bank plans to revamp its space. They aim to expand their warehouse and install new refrigeration units. This will help them store fresh food and better meet the community’s needs.

Brian Pelc, a loan officer at Stockman Bank and former president of the food bank’s board, highlighted the food bank’s essential role in the community. He expressed excitement about being part of this project to help those facing food insecurity.

Margit Rogers, the food bank’s capital campaign director, emphasized the importance of community support. She believes that generosity will help create a stronger, more food-secure Flathead Valley. “This campaign is vital for us to meet the growing needs of our community,” she said.
