Join the Movement: India Today Environment Conclave ’25 to Shape the Future of Conservation

India aims to reach net-zero emissions by 2070, which calls for fresh ideas to solve pressing issues. Sustainable development and effective climate strategies are key to this mission. Many of these topics will be explored at the India Today Environment Conclave 2025 in Bengaluru on February 4. The event will feature notable figures, including Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and environmental experts.

According to the Economic Survey 2024-25, India ranks as the seventh country most impacted by climate change. The nation grapples with extreme weather, rising sea levels, and resource shortages. The Survey emphasizes the need for urgent climate adaptation, as these changes deeply affect people’s lives and the economy.

The conclave aims to highlight solutions for sustainability and conservation. It will gather policymakers, scientists, and environmental leaders to discuss advancements and challenges in the sector.

Addressing environmental issues is urgent. Human-animal conflict has increased, and rapid urbanization has led to higher carbon emissions and air pollution. As the Economic Survey states, a shift toward low-carbon development and mindful consumption is essential.

Karnataka plays a crucial role in these discussions. Home to a significant portion of the Western Ghats and a large number of elephants and tigers, the state faces both ecological and growth challenges. Bengaluru is a fast-growing city and an innovation hub, but it also deals with infrastructure strain from its rapid expansion.

The conclave will include keynote speeches from Siddaramaiah, D.K. Shivakumar, and Eshwar Khandre. Six panel discussions will cover topics like tiger conservation, climate change, e-waste management, and urban challenges in Bengaluru.
