Join the Renegades: Support the Ronald McDonald House Food Drive on May 18!

Wappingers Falls is set for a special event! The Hudson Valley Renegades, the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, are hosting a food drive on Sunday, May 18. This will take place during their game against the Aberdeen IronBirds at Heritage Financial Park, starting at 2:05 p.m.

Fans can bring non-perishable food items to donate. The Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (RMHGHV) requests essential items like individually packaged snacks, juice boxes, small bottles of water, and instant oatmeal.

Brittany Moretti, Executive Director of RMHGHV, shared her excitement about the partnership. “We are thrilled to continue our ongoing partnership with the Hudson Valley Renegades. This food drive helps us support families when they need it most.” Her words highlight how crucial these donations are when families face a child’s illness.

The RMHGHV offers a comforting home for families near the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York. Since opening in 2011, it has assisted over 3,000 families, saving them more than $8 million in lodging and meal costs.

Moreover, $5 from every ticket sold for the game will go directly to RMHGHV. So, not only will you enjoy a great game, but your support will also greatly benefit families in need. Plus, all donors will receive a throwback Renegades giveaway as a thank-you for their contribution!

This food drive is part of the “Helping Hudson Valley” initiative, which brings in supplies for various non-profits in the region throughout the year. Community engagement is essential for these efforts, and your involvement can make a real difference!
