Join the Salvation Army: Volunteer & Donate to Support the Red Kettle Campaign and Food Pantry!

BRYAN, Texas – The Red Kettle campaign is back in action as the Salvation Army responds to growing community needs due to recent government shutdowns.

This campaign is crucial for fundraising, helping the Salvation Army support local families year-round. Captain Luis Villanueva emphasizes this point: “It’s our main fundraiser, and we rely on it to serve our community throughout the year.” They have about a month to collect funds, so your support can make a real difference.

On November 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Salvation Army will kick off the holiday season at Blue Baker on University Drive, launching its Angel Tree program. After the kickoff, you can find angel trees at local places like Walmart and Post Oak Mall.

The need for assistance has risen, particularly for food, as many families are struggling. Captain Villanueva noted, “It’s challenging for affected families, and we really hope for food and monetary donations to help those in need.”

If you’d like to help, you can drop off items like spaghetti, rice, beans, and canned goods at their location at 2506 Cavitt Avenue.

The demand for food assistance has increased significantly; a recent report indicated that food banks across the U.S. saw a 60% rise in requests for help during the past year. This highlights the importance of community support during tough times.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure that families in Bryan have the support they need. For more details, check the Salvation Army website.
