On July 25, 2025, the Progress Harmony Development Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) teamed up with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to kick off the SHAURYA BHARAT Car Rally. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, launched the event from New Delhi, carrying a strong message of unity, bravery, and environmental care.
The rally’s theme, “Rashtra ka Maan, Shaurya ke Saath, Paryavaran ka Vikas,” blends patriotism with adventure and eco-friendly innovation. It marks a fresh chapter in citizen-military relationships, promoting both national pride and environmental stewardship.
Over three days, from July 25 to 27, the rally will cover about 800 kilometers, taking routes rich in military history. This journey isn’t just about the miles; it symbolizes honor and dedication, embodying the Indian armed forces’ spirit.
With 112 participants, the rally features representation from:
- Army, Navy, and Air Force
- Indian Coast Guard
- Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO)
- National Cadet Corps (NCC)
This involvement showcases how diverse sectors of defense are working to engage with the community in an inspiring way, rather than a combative one.
In another noteworthy move, the rally prominently uses electric vehicles (EVs). About 40 sponsored Tata vehicles will include a good number of EVs, highlighting India’s commitment to sustainable mobility. This step aligns with national goals for reducing carbon emissions and demonstrates that strength can go hand-in-hand with sustainability.
Younger generations are a key focus of this rally. Throughout the journey, participants will stop at colleges and universities to interact with students. They’ll hold motivational talks, Q&A sessions, and demonstrations to spark interest in military careers. Focus areas include:
- Patriotism and national service
- Courage and discipline
- Adventure and leadership
- Inclusivity in defense
These efforts aim to shift perceptions of military careers from mere duty to exciting opportunities.
The rally also honors the heroes of Operation Sindoor, a pivotal yet classified defense mission that has left a deep mark on India’s security framework. By dedicating this event to Operation Sindoor, organizers hope to enhance public awareness and admiration for the armed forces.
During the launch, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh praised the rally, emphasizing the vital link between the military and civil society. He stated, “The SHAURYA BHARAT Car Rally is not just a tribute; it’s a journey tied to our shared values and a greener future.” This reflects PHDCCI’s commitment to moving beyond commercial interests to foster social impact and unity.
As the convoy travels through northern India, it symbolizes progress and a shared responsibility to protect our planet. The SHAURYA BHARAT Car Rally sends a clear message: true patriotism combines courage with care for the environment.
With plans for future editions, this rally could become a cherished annual event, inspiring citizens and military personnel alike.
