Join the Soulframe Alpha: Don’t Miss Your Chance to Experience the Game Before Its 2025 Release!

Digital Extremes has opened access to its upcoming fantasy action RPG, Soulframe. Now, anyone who signs up can join the alpha prelude tests and explore the game.

This new opportunity coincides with Tennocon, where the team shared exciting updates. The latest trailer showcases an improved combat system and introduces a new quest. Players will journey underground to battle a giant bear, aided by a French witch. Sounds fun, right?

In a chat with Eurogamer, creative director Geoff Crookes explained why they decided to allow more players in. “We saw a huge line of people wanting to join. When we started inviting folks, many missed their emails. So we thought, let’s make it easier for everyone,” he said.

Community manager Sarah Asselin shared some impressive numbers. Before this new initiative, the prelude test had 1.2 million sign-ups, with about 850,000 waiting for access. “There’s massive interest, and people have been eager to play since we announced it early in development,” Asselin said.

But what about the full release? Digital Extremes had aimed for a 2025 launch. However, with ongoing tweaks and additions, that timeline seems flexible. Both Crookes and Asselin noted they would reassess their schedule in the fall. “We have ambitions but want to be sure it’s ready for players,” Crookes added. If the game isn’t where they want it to be, a delay into 2026 may be necessary.

This kind of openness is critical in today’s gaming landscape. With live service games constantly evolving, player feedback holds more weight than ever. Recent surveys show that 70% of gamers prefer developers who actively engage with their communities. By inviting more players now, Digital Extremes seems dedicated to creating a better experience.
