Join the Turkey Drive: Help Local Families This Thanksgiving with the Fill An Ambulance Greece Food Drive!

Greece, N.Y. — Monroe Ambulance is running its “Fill an Ambulance” Food Drive this November to help local families for Thanksgiving. This effort, in partnership with local fire departments, aims to provide food for those in need in Greece.

Starting on November 11 and continuing until November 23, the program is collecting non-perishable food items and gift cards for the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf and Clothing Closet. These donations will make a real difference for families in our community.

Monroe Ambulance has teamed up with several fire departments, including North Greece, Barnard, Lake Shore, and Ridge Road. To make it easy for residents to donate, crews will be stationed at participating firehouses. Community members can drop off their contributions during designated collection times.

Here are the collection details:

  • N. Greece HQ Fire Station 2 (1766 Latta Road)
    Sunday, Nov. 16 & Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to Noon

  • N. Greece Fire Station 1 (645 N. Greece Road)
    Friday, Nov. 21 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Barnard Fire Station (3084 Dewey Avenue)
Tuesday, Nov. 18 from Noon to 2 p.m.

  • Lake Shore Fire Station (545 Ling Road)
    Sunday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

  • Ridge Road Fire Station (1299 Long Pond Road)
Thursday, Nov. 20 from Noon to 2 p.m.

Food insecurity is a major challenge, especially during the holidays. Recent studies show that approximately 10% of families in the U.S. face food shortages. Local initiatives like this one play a crucial role in bridging that gap.

The sense of community and support during this drive reflects a growing trend, as more people are rallying to help their neighbors in need. The efforts of Monroe Ambulance highlight the power of collaboration among local organizations.

If you’re interested in supporting this cause, consider donating non-perishable items or gift cards. Every bit counts in helping families celebrate this Thanksgiving with a full meal.
