Join the VOICE-TRIBUNE & Chenoweth Square Holiday Food Drive: Make a Difference This Season!

This holiday season, the VOICE-TRIBUNE and Chenoweth Square have teamed up to support families in need through a community food drive for Dare to Care. As we approach this time of giving, they invite neighbors, shoppers, and local businesses to play a part in fighting food insecurity in Louisville.

Donation boxes will be set up at Chenoweth Square from November 1st to December 10th. Anyone can easily drop off nonperishable food items while shopping or dining in the area. Every donation directly helps Dare to Care, which supports thousands of families across Kentuckiana each year.

The need this year is especially urgent. Many families face heightened struggles due to the loss of government assistance programs. Rising food prices add to the pressure, leaving parents to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table.

Community members can help by donating items like canned vegetables, soups, pasta, peanut butter, and cereal. A small contribution can make a meaningful difference, transforming a few items from one household into meals for another.

According to recent reports, food insecurity has increased in Kentucky, with nearly one in seven residents now experiencing difficulty accessing enough food. This is a significant rise compared to previous years, driven by economic challenges. Experts emphasize the importance of community support to combat these growing needs.

Let’s show what it means to be a caring community this holiday season. Every donation matters. Together, we can bring hope and nourishment to families struggling in our area. When we give together, we grow stronger together.
