AUBURN, CA – BriarPatch Food Co-op is teaming up with Vitalant for a community blood drive on January 20. This event celebrates National Blood Donor Month, and everyone is invited to contribute. Donating blood is a simple way to make a big difference in someone’s life.
The Bloodmobile will be at BriarPatch from 9 AM to 1:30 PM that day. Each donation has the potential to save three lives. It’s amazing how one small act can have such a huge impact.
To show appreciation, donors will receive a $5 coupon for BriarPatch. Volunteers from PatchWorks can also earn three hours towards their monthly commitment for donating blood. This is part of a larger volunteer program that gives discounts to those who help approved nonprofits consistently.
The need for blood is always present. According to the American Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds. In fact, statistically, about 38% of people can donate, but only about 10% actually do. This means your participation can fill a crucial gap.
Community members are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance. They can do this online or by calling Vitalant directly.
BriarPatch is located at 2505 Bell Road. Let’s come together and make this event a success!
