Join Us at Mizzou for a Inspiring National Girls and Women in Sports Day Panel This Sunday!

COLUMBIA, Mo. – To celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the University of Missouri Department of Athletics is hosting a special event. Join us for a student-athlete panel and interactive clinic on February 2 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Hearnes Center. It’s free and open to everyone!

This event will happen before the Mizzou women’s basketball game against Tennessee, which starts at 2 p.m. Participants can learn skills and hear stories from some of our talented student-athletes.

The panel will feature five athletes: Jessica Larson (soccer), Addie Lawerence (gymnastics), Taylor Williams (swim and dive), Andrea Artimedi (tennis), and Maya Sands (volleyball). Each athlete has impressive accomplishments, and they are excited to share their experiences.

Fifty-five female athletes will take part in a hands-on clinic, offering skill instruction and play analysis. It will be a fantastic chance for participants to learn from the best!

After the clinic, everyone is invited to stay for the women’s basketball game. There will be fun activities like face painting, balloon art, and a chance to get postgame autographs. Plus, NGWSD pins will be available!

The first 200 attendees will get a free NGWSD T-shirt, a great way to commemorate the day.

Meet the Panelists:

Jessica Larson: She has played 50 games for Mizzou, with two goals and three assists in her career.

Addie Lawerence: A standout gymnast, she is a WCGA Scholastic All-American and two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member. She has achieved a career high of 9.975 on the beam.
