Join us for an exciting event featuring Kim Stanley Robinson, the acclaimed author of the bestselling climate fiction novel “Ministry for the Future.” This live event will take place on Tuesday, February 18, at the Sonoma Community Center.

The evening will start with a dessert reception at a private home at 6:30 p.m., followed by Robinson’s presentation at 7:30 p.m. in Andrews Hall. For those interested in attending, tickets are available at praxispeace.org/events/.

The cost for both the reception and the event is $60, or $50 for Praxis members. If you wish to attend only the event, tickets are $30, with a reduced price of $25 for members.

In “Ministry for the Future,” published in 2020, Robinson explores the pressing issues surrounding climate change. He uses his extensive research to highlight the urgency of the crisis, showcasing potential catastrophes we could face soon—including some that are already unfolding. Robinson also offers realistic solutions to combat these challenges.

As a prominent figure in science fiction, Robinson has written 22 novels, including the famous “Mars Trilogy,” “New York 2140,” and “Aurora.” His works often emphasize ecological and political themes, portraying scientists as heroes who take action for a better future.

Robinson’s storytelling has garnered him numerous accolades, including the Hugo and Nebula awards. He holds a bachelor’s degree and doctorate in literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a master’s degree in English from Boston University.

Beyond writing, Robinson is a passionate mountain climber who finds deep inspiration in nature.
