Join Us at the Lipscomb Fall Invitational: University of North Alabama Women’s Tennis Takes Center Court!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 2, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women’s tennis team is gearing up for the Lipscomb Fall Invitational this weekend. The event runs from October 3 to October 5 in Nashville.

After a strong showing at the Ragin’ Cajun Hidden Duals where they secured 17 wins, the Lions are excited to continue their momentum. Every player on the team scored at least one victory in Louisiana. Junior Mathilde Delaney led with five wins, while fellow junior Emma Ansorge and freshman Sammie Schouten each had four wins. Newcomer Louise Booker made a great debut with three wins, matched by senior Eeva Ristola. Senior Senem Ocal and freshman Farah Asaad contributed two wins each.

This invite will see the Lions take on three teams: Murray State, Belmont, and the host Lipscomb. Matches are scheduled for both doubles and singles each day. On Friday, they open against Murray State in doubles at 10 a.m. and will go head-to-head with Belmont in singles at 5 p.m. Saturday’s matches feature Belmont in doubles at 10 a.m. and Lipscomb in singles at 11 a.m. The final day will see them face Lipscomb again in doubles at 10 a.m. followed by Murray State in singles at 11 a.m.

These tournaments are not just important for scoring wins but also for building team chemistry. As Coach Kelly Greene mentioned, “Early season competitions are key for understanding our strengths and areas for growth.” This fits well with recent findings: according to a survey by the NCAA, early season team bonding is crucial for long-term success.

The Lions will share results and a recap of their performances on RoarLions.com after the tournament. For in-depth coverage and updates, you can follow North Alabama Athletics on their social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
