Townsend Lawn Party Concert
Get ready for a fun evening at Townsend’s lawn party concert! Join us from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at the common area. This event will support renovations for Kids Kountry Playground, located behind Spaulding Memorial School at Eastman Street and Turnpike Road.
Betty Mae Tenney, the Band Concert Coordinator, hopes many locals will attend. “Every bit helps improve the playground,” she said.
Food will be available too! The Cemetery and Parks Department will grill hamburgers and hot dogs. You can also get cheeseburgers, limited veggie burgers, fried dough, popcorn, chips, cold soda, and bottled water. Don’t forget to check out the variety of home-baked goods available for a donation.
Kids will enjoy a special game area set up just for them.
The Townsend Military Band will kick off the concert with exciting tunes, including Paul Lavender’s “Raiders March” and the lively “Beer Barrel Polka.” The event will wrap up with the patriotic “Star Spangled Banner.”
