Join Us for a Free Community Food Distribution at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Edmonds on March 11!

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Edmonds is holding a popup food distribution on Wednesday, March 11, from 3 to 4 p.m. This event will take place in the church parking lot. It’s a part of the church’s efforts to combat food insecurity in the community.

The food, provided by the Edmonds Food Bank, features fresh produce, meat, and prepackaged goods. Everything is free, and attendees can select what they need.

To find the location, the church is situated at 21405 82nd Place West in Edmonds, near the Five Corners roundabout. Look for signs along 212th Street and 84th Avenue Southwest that guide you to the church.

Additionally, St. Alban’s has a community “Blessings Food Pantry.” It’s open all day on the north side of the church. This pantry offers various food items at no cost. Everyone is welcome to take what they need or even contribute to the pantry.

Food insecurity is a serious issue. According to a recent report, about 10.5% of households in Washington state struggle to put enough food on the table. Local initiatives like this one not only provide immediate relief but also foster a spirit of community support and resilience.

Community members have expressed appreciation on social media for the church’s efforts. Many have shared their experiences of receiving help or contributing to the pantry, highlighting the compassion and collaboration that defines Edmonds.

As we see rising costs everywhere, events like this remind us of the importance of coming together to support one another. For more information on fighting food insecurity, you can read about it in reports from the Food Research and Action Center.
