Join Us for an Exciting Hunter Education Field Day for Online Students in Glasgow – February 8!

There’s an upcoming in-person hunter education field day in Glasgow, Montana. It’s happening at the Cottonwood Inn Convention Center on Saturday, February 8, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Before you can join this field day, you must complete an online course, which has a fee. This course is essential for students aged 12 to 17. After finishing the online part, these students will receive a field day qualifier certificate to attend in person.

If you’re currently 11 years old and will turn 12 by January 16 of this licensing year, you can also take the online course along with the field day. Adults aged 18 and older can attend the field day for hands-on experience, but it isn’t mandatory for them.

During the field day, you will learn about firearm safety and hunting ethics. Instructors will guide you through practice sessions and look for your understanding and skills. You will also engage in realistic scenarios using inert firearms for safe practice.

This field day coincides with a workshop for hunter, bowhunter, and trapper educator instructors. This gives instructors a chance to observe how the field day is conducted, ensuring a high-quality experience for everyone involved.

To attend, you need to register in advance. You can find and enroll in classes or the online course through the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks website at fwp.mt.gov/hunt/education/hunter. Make sure to check the registration page for all the necessary details.

Be sure to print and sign any required paperwork before attending the field day. To register directly for this specific event, you can visit here.

If you have questions, feel free to reach out to course instructor Marc Kloker at 406-228-3704 or by email at mkloker@mt.gov.
