Join Us for an Exciting Open House at Edmonds Food Bank on October 11th!

The Edmonds Food Bank is hosting an open house on Saturday, October 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come by, tour the facility, and lend a hand bagging oats and rice for distribution. This event highlights the “Thrive Together” campaign, which aims to build a new food bank to better serve the community.

During the open house, visitors can also donate food. The food bank is particularly in need of holiday items like canned pumpkin, green beans, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, and basic condiments such as salt, pepper, and cooking oil.

This event marks the beginning of the Toy Shop season, where new toys and gifts are collected for children up to age nine. Donations are greatly appreciated, and the staff will be on hand to explain how you can get involved in this festive program.

With food insecurity rising, the need for a new facility is urgent. According to a recent survey by Feeding America, 1 in 8 people face hunger in the U.S. This is a stark reminder of why initiatives like Thrive Together are so important.

The open house is free. For more details about the event or how to support the Toy Shop and Thrive Together, check out Edmonds Food Bank’s website or follow them on social media @edmondsfoodbank.
