Civil Service Hosts Climate Conference and Carbon Literacy Sessions
When civil servants aren’t working from home or enjoying a vacation, they’re tackling important issues together. Next month, the Civil Service Climate + Environment Network will hold a Climate and Environment Conference at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in London. For those unable to attend in person, there will be events across the UK and options to participate virtually.
In addition to the conference, civil servants are taking part in “Carbon Literacy” training sessions during the week. These sessions are designed to help participants understand the crucial aspects of climate change. Here’s what attendees will cover:
- An introduction to climate science.
- The effects of climate change on our environment and health.
- Our vulnerability to climate change and pandemics.
- Relevant climate policies and legislation.
- How to communicate and inspire action on climate change.
Recently, the Care Quality Commission highlighted its contributions at the NHS 100 – Decarbonising the NHS conference, demonstrating their commitment to tackling climate change.
