The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) is gearing up for Climate Week 2025 in Dhaka, running from October 18 to 21. The event aims to turn ambitious climate goals into real action. This year, it’s focused on “Transforming Ambition into Action.”

The four-day program, organized with support from the Danish Embassy and the World Bank, will bring together policymakers, researchers, youth leaders, and private sector representatives. They will engage in discussions, competitions, and exhibitions on crucial topics like climate justice and innovation.

The week kicks off with an international conference titled “A World Beyond Crisis: Climate Solutions That Work.” The first day features an opening session that aligns national interests with global climate objectives, followed by thematic roundtables. These will address vital issues such as climate commitments in vulnerable nations, integrating gender equity into climate policies, and sustainable finance amidst climate challenges.

On day two, young scholars and early-career professionals will present their research on topics like green technology and disaster risk reduction. Outstanding papers will be recognized and considered for publication, highlighting the importance of fresh ideas in tackling climate issues.

The third day focuses on youth engagement. Through workshops, young participants will discuss climate budgeting and adaptation plans tailored for various climatic zones. This aims to empower them to shape inclusive climate policies.

The final day wraps up with a Climate Olympiad, a Policy Case Competition, and a Green Project Exhibition. Students and young innovators will showcase creative climate solutions, while organizations present projects aimed at sustainability and community adaptation.

By blending high-level discussions with youth-led initiatives, CPD Climate Week 2025 seeks to highlight Bangladesh’s role in climate resilience. Recent surveys indicate that 78% of youth feel they can make a difference in climate action, demonstrating the potential impact of such events in mobilizing the younger generation.

This event not only emphasizes the significance of collaborative effort but also aims to inspire a collective commitment to a sustainable, equitable future.
