Join Us for Manna FoodBank’s Festive Holiday Food Distribution Event – Share the Joy!

MANNA FoodBank is ready to spread some holiday cheer with a special food distribution event. On December 18, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., families in western North Carolina can receive free groceries at the WNC Agriculture Center, Gate 7, 761 Boylston Highway in Fletcher.

This event, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, will offer boxes filled with fresh produce, meat, eggs, and dry foods to ensure families have a complete holiday meal.

To keep things organized, MANNA has set a few guidelines:

  • The first 1,000 people to sign up will be served.
  • When you RSVP, picking a time slot will help manage the flow of volunteers and vehicles. It’s not strictly enforced, but arriving at your chosen time helps everyone.
  • Please wait until 11:30 a.m. to line up.
  • Each vehicle can collect food for two families.
  • Make sure there’s enough space in your vehicle for safe and quick loading.
  • Walk-ups are welcome; there’s a bus stop nearby.

Expect wait times to be long, so come prepared with whatever you might need for yourself and any children.

In light of recent federal cuts affecting SNAP and Medicaid, MANNA’s initiatives are more crucial than ever. According to a report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, food insecurity is increasing in many areas, affecting millions of families nationwide.

For those unable to attend the event, you can find the nearest food pantry using the food finder tool available on their website.

MANNA FoodBank is committed to ensuring everyone in the community has access to necessary resources, especially during the holiday season.
