Join Us for Milligan University’s Exciting Campus Work Day: Get Involved and Make a Difference!

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Aug. 15, 2025) — This morning, Milligan University faculty and staff gathered under a bright sky for the annual Campus Work Day. Before students return, faculty and staff lend a hand to spruce up the campus.

The day began with a light breakfast, setting a friendly tone. Employees then split into small groups to tackle tasks like landscaping, painting, and cleaning. The effort wrapped up with a lunch for everyone involved.

Milligan President Dr. Stephen Waers expressed the importance of this day, saying, “It’s wonderful to bring everyone together after summer. We’re working for our students, who will be here soon. This day is about welcome and unity as we start the new academic year.”

This year was special as staff also showcased the summer’s projects. Updates were made to Sutton Hall, the Fireside Grill in the McMahan Student Center, the Little Hartland Welcome Center, and the lower level of the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. These improvements reflect the university’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the student experience.

The excitement continues with Move-In Day for new students set for Saturday, Aug. 23, followed by the start of classes on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Research shows that community involvement can foster stronger connections within organizations. A study from the Journal of Higher Education Leadership found that such events improve morale and create a sense of belonging among faculty and staff. It’s evident that days like this not only beautify the campus but also strengthen the Milligan community.

As we anticipate the start of the new academic year, it’s clear that these moments create lasting impacts.
