This special event, marking 25 years of dedication to protecting the Santa Barbara Channel and its waters, will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the beautiful Cabrillo Pavilion.
The Blue Water Ball isn’t just a fundraiser; it’s a gathering of passionate ocean advocates, community leaders, and supporters of environmental health. This year’s celebration is particularly meaningful as Channelkeeper reaches this significant milestone.
For a quarter-century, Channelkeeper has actively worked to ensure our waters remain clean and safe. They blend education, advocacy, and hands-on efforts to protect marine life and engage the community.
One of the highlights of the evening will be a talk by Dr. Jane Lubchenco. She’s a marine ecologist with a stellar reputation, having served as the head of NOAA and advised on U.S. ocean policy under President Obama. Dr. Lubchenco’s ideas and experience align perfectly with Channelkeeper’s mission. Her work on sustainable fishing and climate policy has made a lasting impact.
Community leader Geoff Green will be our emcee. There will also be a welcome from Chumash representative Mia Lopez, adding a unique local perspective to the event.
