HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team, champions of the Southland Conference, is gearing up for the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic. This exciting tournament will take place from February 5-8 at the Eddie C. Moore Sports Complex in Clearwater, Florida.
The Lady Lions are kicking off the tournament against Clemson, a team that made it to the Super Regionals last year. This match is set for February 5 at 6 p.m. Central Time. Clemson hosted a regional before facing off against Texas, the eventual national champion, in the Super Regionals. This will be a rematch from last season’s NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional, where Southeastern triumphed over the Tigers twice.
After Clemson, the Lady Lions will face Tennessee State and Longwood on February 6. Then on February 7, they’ll play Rutgers and Boston College. The final game of the tournament will be on February 8 at 9 a.m. against Oregon, a team with an impressive record of 54 wins last season and a trip to the Women’s College World Series.
