Join Us for the Exciting Inaugural Metropolis Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at Columbia University – Men’s Golf Kicks Off Monday-Tuesday!

NEW YORK— This Monday and Tuesday, Columbia’s men’s golf team kicks off the 2025-26 season. They’re excited to host the Metropolis Intercollegiate at the Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, New York, bringing together 15 teams for this inaugural event. Rounds start Monday at 8:45 a.m., with the final round on Tuesday at the same time.

On Sunday evening, a special dinner will welcome all teams and participants at the country club. There’s also a fun better ball amateur event that afternoon featuring Metropolis members and sponsors. After dinner, attendees can look forward to a panel discussion with former collegiate golfers Christian Cavaliere, Matt Ferrari, and Nathan Han ’24CC. Brian Crowell will lead this talk. He’s not only an award-winning golf instructor with over 30 years of experience but also a respected figure in golf media. Crowell has been involved with prominent outlets like NBC and CBS and hosts a show on Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio.

Rich Mueller, Columbia’s golf director and men’s head coach, shared his excitement about the event: “We could not be more thrilled to host this at Metropolis Country Club. Thanks to everyone involved in making this happen.” The event promises to challenge the teams in attendance, making for an unforgettable experience.

The field includes the host Lions, along with teams from Bryant, Connecticut, Dartmouth, FDU, Fordham, Holy Cross, Iona, Lafayette, North Dakota State, Richmond, Siena, St. John’s, Towson, and Yale. In total, 84 players will participate in the tournament.

Metropolis Country Club is set up as a 6,878-yard challenge with a par of 70. Fans can track progress with live scoring provided by the College Golf Scoreboard.

Columbia’s team features seniors George Rubelsky and Darren Pang, sophomores Ryan Keyes and Salil Khanduja, and newcomer Alejandro Formosa. Additionally, junior Hunter Po and first-year Sam Johnson will compete individually.

Golf plays a huge role in community engagement.
