The University of Southern Indiana is hosting the Ignite Your Future: Adult Learner Expo on January 28 from 6 to 6:45 p.m. This free virtual event is perfect for anyone thinking about returning to school or pursuing further education. You don’t need to be a current student or an alumnus to join in.
The Expo, organized by USI’s Online and Adult Learning and the School of Graduate Studies, aims to help adult learners discover opportunities for growth in their education and careers. During the event, attendees will see a presentation called “Explore Your Options at USI: Credentials That Fit Your Goals.” This session will clarify the different credentials at USI, including noncredit options, microcredentials, certificates, and full degrees.
Whether you aim to complete a degree or explore new education paths, the Expo will cover topics to spark your educational journey. A recording of the presentation will be available the following day, along with additional guides and materials on the Adult Learner Expo website.
Some key topics include:
- Resources for Adult Learners
- Strategies for Success
- Choosing the Right Credential
- Aligning Education with Career Goals (in partnership with USI’s Career Success Center)
- Next Steps in Your Educational Journey
Dr. Brian Crose, the Assistant Dean of Online and Adult Learning at USI, noted, “Many adults are seeking ways to improve their career options and meet workforce needs. This Expo caters to their desire for personal and professional growth.”
Recent studies show that over 40% of adults are considering further education to enhance their job skills and adapt to changing job markets. Events like this can offer crucial insights and help individuals make informed decisions about their educational paths.
By attending the Expo, participants can better navigate their choices and find the resources they need to succeed.
